  • Sustainable Coconut Coir Brick – Also called Coco Coir Brick, TrustBasket Cocopeat is a perfect way to add nutrients and help retain moisture in plants for longer. It reduces soil compaction and provides a great environment for beneficial microorganisms to grow.
  • Best for growing plants – An excellent soil amendment that is ideal for all types of indoor potted plants and outdoor gardens. Being an organic medium it has a high Cation Exchange Capacity allowing nutrients to be absorbed and released to the plants according to their need.
  • Best for growing seedlings – Cocopeat sets up a suitable environment for all types of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flower seeds to germinate. The lightweight and fluffy texture allows better aeration for optimal seed germination.
  • Promotes healthy root growth – Cocopeat absorbs water instantaneously, providing immediate hydration for better root growth. It increases the porosity of the potting mix which aids plants to absorb more oxygen, and prevents root rot.
  • Multiple uses – Ideal for organic gardening, hydroponics, composting, worm bedding, and as a mushroom substrate. Moreover, coco coir makes a fairly good substitute for peat moss. It provides all benefits that peat moss does to the plants.

    *Usage:
I soaked the block in a container filled with water. It took some time, nearly an hour, but watching it expand was fascinating. Once fully expanded, it turned into a considerable amount of fluffy cocopeat.

    **Gardening Applications:**
I used it as a potting mix for repotting my plants. The texture was perfect – light, airy, and retained moisture well.

The cocopeat felt high-quality and had that natural, earthy smell. Knowing it’s made from coconut fibers, it’s a satisfyingly eco-friendly option for my gardening endeavors.

    **Consideration:**
The expansion time is a factor to plan for. Pre-soaking it before actual use is necessary to utilize its full potential.

    **Conclusion:**
My practical experience with Cocopeat 5 kg Block was rewarding. Once expanded, it provided an excellent potting mix and seed starter medium. While the expansion time requires some patience, its quality and eco-friendliness make it a valuable addition to my gardening supplies.

I bought this to plant flowers in home and that’s very worthy if you in City and not a option to get soil in heavy quantity so you can mix it with soil and fertilizers.

Lot of fibers just left as it is. more fiber than powder. For me main purpose is for composting, and want more of powder than fiber.

Delivery was as promised-in a short span. However, the packaging was already torn from the sides and a lot of material was lost either in transit or while packing.
Could not complain to the helpdesk as lately they have all scripted responses which lead no where.
Opened and prepared the block as suggested on the instructions, added manure to the mix and readied the pots. Have used seeds from earlier crop like ginger, garlic, pudina, flowering plants, tulsi etc., purchased a couple of plan seeds from other vendors and planted these too.
    Positives:
    1. reduces overall pot weight due to reduction in soil weight
    2. easier mixing & rolling of soil in pot
    3. water retention is better than with soil only- so i am using lesser water here
    4. I observed that the roots are growing much faster and the average growth is also faster.

    Negatives/ Unknown:
    1. Not sure how frequently i will need to add more peat to the pot when the old soil washes away
    2. same for the manure- i am nit sure if the manure addition frequency remains same or increases due to porosity of the pot mix
    3. though the plants are growing well and water retention capability is good, on hot days, when evaporation is faster, will soil+peat mix lose water faster? leading to more frequent watering

definitely a good buy and value for money as i find the average pot life extended and plants staying hydrated for longer time.
