It doesn’t pick up movements from a distance in dark.Only when someone is very near, that too in some dim light then only it works. When I first received it there was no remote in the packet. There is no return policy except for exchange. Suppose some one doesn’t like it they are struck with a replacement. Many times we will be fooled by the pictures and details what the manufacture put there . Unless we physically see it we will not know exactly how it works…..It is better if there is a money back policy also like many other products on Amazon.

I liked the compact size & lightweight design. Easy & effortless installation.
The material used is good and has a great build quality.
It’s white light (somehow I prefer yellow/ warm white)
Works better using the remote rather than toggling between modes.
Interestingly this was mentioned in the supplied instruction booklet, which also said to charge for several hours before use. I charged for two full days in the sun.
Very low light (& battery strength) tho’
I’ll probably open it up & replace the chargeable battery later.

Bought 🛒 first one ☝🏻 of these Homehop Motion 👋🏻 Sensor 👂🏻 Camera 📸 Shaped Solar 🌞 Light 🔦 with 77 LEDs in Oct. 2023 🗓️ as a trial.
I am using it as an Intrusion 🐕🐈🐈⬛🐄🐀 Detection 🕵🏻 and Deterrent 🫸🏻, or Theft 🔨🧔🏿 Prevention 🛑 device, supplementing 👫 it with actual CCTV cameras 📹 already in place.
I found 🔍🧐 battery 🔋 backup more than sufficient for my purpose. And the motion 👋🏻 sensing distance 📐 is also just right ✅. The sensor worked good in dense fog 🌬️💨 as well. It’s very light weight and sturdy at the same time (unless you are doing a drop-test 😆).
Later, after being satisfied 😌 with the 1st purchase, I bought 💳 another one in Jan 2024. Plan is to add ➕ one or two ✌🏻 more with a gap ↔️ of 3-4 months 😂. Both the times, I managed to buy it for less than ₹800.
Some hopefully useful tips:
🔅 Since this product variant is of the shape of Camera, it makes most sense to keep it in Mode 1, rather than Mode 2 or 3. If anyone needs constant light, the better alternative is to opt for the product variant with bigger solar panels.
🔅 For use in Mode 1, it doesn’t necessarily needs to be fixed 🪛 in bright sunlight ☀️. Since it’ll switch-On only in rare case of intrusion detection, even when fixed under shade will work fine – that’s what it is in my case.
🔅 Whether buying one, or multiple, it is a good idea to remove/isolate the remote battery, because chances are that you are rarely, if ever, going to change the Modes once selected. Unnecessary battery drain, or worst a leakage, is going to be disappointing.
For me, this product rightly ⚖️ deserves 👍🏻 a 5-star rating ⭐🌟⭐🌟⭐
